I had the same problem with my VW Touareg, the service tech. took me and my car for a quick ride around the building. He breaked hard at the same time as he was accelerating hard a couple of times. The discs were almost red. I don't know if it's good for the car but the squeaking disappeared.

I?ve got the same problem @ 17,000 miles. It?s probably been doing it for some time now. Just noticed it when I pulled up at a friends with the window down. He was like ?Man, are those your brakes squeaking??. I?m taking my car in for service soon and we?ll see what they say?.

And I thought people were looking my way all the time because the car looks good??.

Sometimes the brakes get a glaze on them that causes squeaking, and one way to get rid of it is to do a few reps of hard braking, which wears off the glaze. If you're bringing in your car for service, most dealers also have a substance they can apply to the brakes which also helps.

Well, I know first hand that hard braking alone does not cure this! I brake pretty hard, fairly often.....

I'll report back when I get my car back for service. Don't hold your breath, though, i'm sure it will be there for two weeks....

Most problems reported here are on 525 and 530.

Anyone has this problem on a 545?
