I'd look at the siren first - sure sounds like it was disabled.

As for scanning your key... well, I'm no 007, but I'm sure its not that hard these days (there may even be like an iPhone app for it). However, I doubt that someone with the capability to scan your key's lock/unlock code (or whatever), would bother over some vouchers and 10 quid in coins. They'd just take the whole car then - at least this way its worth their time, sort of.

Weird. Have you considered inspecting the area where this happens for surveillance cameras? Maybe someone has the whole thing on record - that'd sure clear things up. If no cameras are around, install one (they shouldn't be terribly expensive) and see who's messing with your ride, man

at least, that'd be more or less where I'd start...

I am looking for some good wireless ip night vision cameras as we speak to put outside my house, as that is the scene of the crime, the siren does work i have checked that, an i agree, they will not scan the alarm to make off with what may or may not be left in the car, in this case the vouchers were a bonus to who ever got in, a freind of a friend 5mins up the road had the same with his x5 on the third attempt the actual car was taken, again no siren or anything.

So is there a group going round targeting these type cars? Makes me nervous seen as im off to New York in the morning. Think I may leave the car at my parents for whilst im away.

I did think that as my kids did do that to my wifes Golf, but they now can no longer reach the keys

I am now on holiday in New York, well actually stranded in New York due to the volcano playing havoc with the airlines, and my house alarm went off in the middle of the night, it turns out that they have got into my wifes golf, and possibly attempted to get into the house for the keys???? maybe??? They had no joy with my BMW as its been moved for this very reason, to my parents house.

Clearly someone is after something.

Not much I can do as im on the wrong side of the pond at the moment and not sure when i will get back
