Hi- I live in Boston UK- I hope it wasnt Boston BMW couldnt work out simple issue like fuel pump?

I think service agents have lost basic auto mechanic skills.

Unless the diagnostics tell's them the fault code and prints out the correct fix they won't touch it.

What happend to the days when a mechnic built up knowledge and experience and 'just knew' what was wrong with a car. I guess in fairness cars are more complex than ever and do show up strange faults.

They have NONE. After talking to them I think I could do a 10x better job at it than they ever could and I don't even do mechanical work. They just don't know how to diagnose issues at all.
