New member, first post. I just ordered my first BMW today, they have one in SC, and I will get it some time next week. I have owned several new vehicles over the years, and it seems like they no longer require a break in period. Any recommendations? 2005 545i Sport Titanium Gray Metallic

Break-in is still recommended. Keep it under 4K RPM for the first 1200 miles. And, yes, it is difficult. I am only halfway there myself.

Welcome aboard, hagrock !

Break-in is not required, but RECOMMENDED!

It's better to follow the break-in rules!

Thumbs down

Break it in or it'll break!

In other words don't drag race anyone until after she's broken in.

well, particularly the titanium grey needs to be broken in especially carefully (alright, im a smartass - i admit)

honestly, i have no idea - but i cant imagine driving 2000km (especially the first ones) under 4000 rpm. though, if the experts say so, i guess i must be so, and when i get my car, i will do my utmost best to make it so...
