brake job on 530i 2004

hi All,
i just bought a 530i ,04 with 33k certified series. According to the dealer they did a complete brake job. i assume they only changed the pads not rotors.
my question is
1. the brakes are making noise(dealer said because its new brakes) why?
2 . more important the idrive is still showing the old km left on old pads or rotors.(Dealer said it could be a sensor of idrive).
Dealer asked me to drive it for a week and if the noise hasn't gone they will recleaning the rotors and pads.
has anyone have any recomendation?

There is a service bulletin with regard to the brake sensors squealing. BMW redesigned the brake sensors and were replacing them under warranty. It's possible that your 2004 car never had them replaced.
If the dealer changed the brakes, they should have reset the iDrive service indicator as well. I don't think it magically resets itself...
