speuk,

Thanks for the email and I've replied to you.
I'm hoping that this should resolve the matter once I get to show the email to my dealer. I will mention that your car was one of the first E60s August/September 2003 (hope this is correct) and that this should mean my November 2003 should not be a problem. If I remember correctly you had a s/w upgrade too, so I'll request the same too.

Thanks Again and hear from you soon.

speuk,
hope you don't mind.

karm, skidster and others,
Email baiscally says as what speuk mentioned earlier about getting dealer to send puma to BMW UK. Here is the extract not no technical stuff I'm afraid:-
"In responce to your e mail I can confirm that bfd was activated on your
vehicle. Each vehicle has different sepc and build dates which will may
effect if this can be done on your friends car or not.It will be neccesery
for Rydale in cardiff to send a puma to bmw with the relevent information on
the vehicle to see if it possible to activate bfd on his car.
I hope this helps him in this matter".

I will speak to my dealer soon and get some proper answers and ask them to follow it up. The main thing I believe is to get a software upgrade first. As speuk had a car built well before mine, there's hope that BFD can be activated. Besides all US cars had it actiavted as standard right from the start. So should be possible no matter what the dealer says. Maybe we should take our cars to speuk's dealer to get it done.

Will keep you guys updated.

Am I taking too much for granted? I have been thinking that this feature works on the cars today. IIRC, it was included in the brochures, but there is always that disclaimer included in there, too.

Has always been standard in US cars. Wasn't legal over here until earlier this year.
