Any one of the rust removers will work, just don't get it on anything else.

Wire brush, sandpaper and high heat caliper paint. Just take newspaper and tape it around the disc exposing the hub ...thats it

How long does the paint take to cure, before you can put the wheel back on and drive?

Last I remember for the calipers was 24 cure time but like 15 min in between coats. You can always use a halogen light or blow dryer to help with that.

Correct me if I am wrong... the factory rotors seem not rust like the aftermarket ones do. Perhaps when purchasing the aftermarket rotors maybe paint the areas that are prone to rust before installing them. I also plan to do this when it comes to replacing mine.

some of the nicer aftermarket rotors come with painted hats (that's the name for the area rusting in the pictures above)

Michael at acute performance is on this forum, and he is a stand up guy. I got the R1 concept rotors with Hawk pads, best investment ever!
