Boot/Trunk hinge noise

I always remembered how nicely damped the trunk lid was when it opened to the full position.
No when I press the trunk open button, and the lid it reaches the maximum opening position it does not seem damped anymore and clunks to a stop.
Do your trunk lids have this clunk?

My trunk acts normal (damped open), but I do hear a pump/vacuum sound in the left side (you facing the trunk) of the trunk hinge. I think it has something to do with the damping. Maybe. . . I'm guessing.
