My car would like a "inspection"

Hi!
Just as my topic says, our E60 says "Inpection in 2000 km", but the car just got a service check at 52.000 km (the first check was at 27.000 km)..
My dealer says that they just "check" the car, when it says inspection.
But why does BMW do it this way ???
The interval for service is 2 years OR 30.000 km, but my car now wants a inspection, why don't they just make an inspection when the car is in for a service @ 30.000 km, or 60.000 km
??
So my question is, what does BMW do at this service check ??? Because they dosen't change oil, filter etc...
