A body shop can fix that easily, although it still may be recommended that the bumper be replaced. The shopto repair it would heat it up and push most of it out flush then apply bumper repair adhesive material sand and paint. It were mine thats what I would do to keep the cost down, unless the over persons insurance will pay.

You can ask your local BMW dealership where they send their cars to get bodywork done. You could also ask around for references. If it costs more than $300 to fix, you may want to consider a new bumper.

If this is done at a desent body shop I would guess the cost would be something around $500.00. I agree with others, see who your local dealer recommends. A good place to start and will most likely be on the higher side. Typically, black is black unless there is a metalic in there and then the color is blue or so much that is actually looks like black met. I don't see any issues with color match other than your bumper looking newer than the rest of the car. If that is the case, then you could have your car lightly buffed or detailed which should equal everything out and the bumper will equal out in time anyways.

I lightly tapped a guy from behind in our X5 and it sctached the bumper, broke fog and PDC. New bumper and painted the lip above the bumper which is part of the fender. Cost was 1800.00! If you are collecting from the insurance go get a couple estimates to have on hand to show your estimate guy IF they come in low, they will often low ball you. With this money perhaps instead of relacing you can have it fix and not be out of any cash or like some have said grab a differnt type of bumper. Or if they decide to replace it then maybe ask if you can pay the difference to upgrade the bumper to something differnt.

i dont plan on making a claim, my deductable is 500 bucks, so i dont see the point in claiming it.. paying 500 bucks and have a claim on my record. I am looking to get it fixed for as cheap as possible.. im just leary at getting it fixed.. plus leaving my car someone else and not having it while getting fixed, etc. pain in the butt.

^^^ You want to get it fixed ASAP because it really bothers you, BUT you are looking for the cheapest solution possible and don't trust leaving the car with someone else while it gets repaired.....wow.

Just take the bumper off yourself, tap the imperfection out and be done with it for free. A PDR specialist might be your "cheapest" option and this can also be done while you wait, but it most likely won't be perfect. No way a body shop is going to get you in and out in less than a day using paint, and if they did I sure as hell wouldn't trust them. GL

yes i know.. thats what sucks.. i dont have a ton of extra time, i work full time plus attend grad school.. so the hassle of taking my car to a bodyshop, leaving it there having someone pick me up, then go get in a day or whatever.. just a pain!!! i wish i didnt have to deal with.. i would like to get it fixed soon, but i dont think i have the extra time at the moment.

the body shop bmw recommend me is 20-25 min away.. so that makes things even worse..

Hi, i think this can be fixed easily however if you tend to keep the car you might aswell change it to the sport bumper as it really stand out. i just bought my 530i and thinking of getting the bumper changed to sport. it's the late 2003 e60 shape grey colour.
