do you know that BMW will not cover for your battery if you drive less than 7500 miles per year?
and it cost $475 including parts and labor for OEM battery

ray, that's ridiculous! Give BMW of Bloomfield a call and see if they can get u a new one. So does that mean that you are not supposed to buy a BMW if you drive very little?? Which stupidship did u go to? Gimme a call.

EDIT: Give BMW NA a call immediately. 1-800-831-1117

That is messed up. Luckily I have managed to put about 28K miles on my car since I bought it. Definitely shop around $450 for a friggin battery? Ludicrous

thanks john, i went to BMW of Manhattan, i told them i need to jump start my car every day since my car was death after a week, they told me it could be the battery, but since i only have 3760 miles, they dont cover the battery, they need 7500 miles per year in order to cover the battery,
OEM battery+labor+tax
i didnt do it, i can still drive my car, maybe replace it after 7500 miles, haha, but i will call BMW of Bloomfield, thanks john

i just called BMW of NA to confirm, unfortunately, it is true, if you drive under 7500 miles per year, BMW wont cover your battery, this is ridiculous
i just called anohter friend, he drove his X5 14000 miles in two years and BMW didnt cover his battery replacement when his battery was dead

first disappointed service from BMW

What the &^**?, If some one lives in Manhattan, where you can not generally drive more than few miles everyday resulting less mileage, your battery is not covered under warranty?. That means keep changing your battery from your pocket for rest of your life every 8 to 10 months? Does it call for good design?
BMW are you listening?

this topic has been regurgitated countless times? however, this is total BS! their whole ad campaign is on the premise of ZERO dollars spent during maintenance period! i don?t think i ever read a mileage disclaimer for maintenance on their sales brochure...

you have to shop different dealers? some are willing to help you out. i had my battery changed even though i had low miles.

which dealer did you go to? i thought the BMW of manhattan tried to make money, but i just called BMW of NA to confirm, if your dealer change the battery for you with low mileage, i will like to go if not too far away and save $500, i still have not change the battery yet, because i can still drive, just need to jump start if i park overnight

The "unfavorable driving profile" strikes again. Had the same problem. They "goodwilled" it. Now I use a trickle charger when I'm outta town.
