Man... I'm still waiting for my first BMW to arrive and after reading tons of posts on this forum, I'm getting really scared as to how reliable the car will be after having driven nothing but trouble-free Honda/Acura vehicles since 1989. I'm hoping the 2006 models will have most of the wrinkles ironed out. I've always dreamed of owning a 5, and I hope it's a dream that'll last a while. It'll be a shame to give up such a great looking/handling machine just to return to front-wheel drive.

Well... Don't get it wring.
Many TSBs can mean BMW take care of their customers/cars.
Toyota has many TSBs too.

[/quote]Your dream car will become a reality soon, so enjoy it. All car manufac. will have issues, and BMW will have it's list, but not all e60 will experience everything on the list.
Remember, in retrospect, dreams are always better than reality because once its realized, you have nothing to dream about anymore. You see my dream car is a Porsche GT2 (which I know I will probably never be able to afford), but my reality car is an 5er. So while I'm happy owning a 05 545i, I'm always dreaming of a GT2.

I've had three 5 Series vehicles before my new E60 on the way, two of which had over 200,000 miles. My E39 has 140,000 miles. They've all not given me many problems. The electronics in the newer vehicles inevitably have issues. Some would argue the Japanese makes are more reliable. Sure.
And sitting at home on your couch is safer than mountain climbing.

And no, it's not just E60s. It's all cars. And BMW isn't alone:

"BUMP" is what people do sometimes to bring a topic back to the top of a forum. If a topic is replied to, most forums will move it to the top, keeping it on the first page. So if someone wants to "bump" it back up to the top for whatever reason, often they'll just say "BUMP".
