I'm sorry to resurrect the old thread, but has anybody yet to receive the recall letter?

Just spoke to BMW N.A. and BMW of Manhattan.

BMW of Manhattan told me, to bring my car in they will run the VIN for me and if my vehicle was part of the recall they will take care of everything free of charge.

Will probably take in in Saturday monring if not then the following weekend.

Hey tarek, im sorry to be the person to give you the bad news , but this doesnt apply to us middle easterns, it only applies to BMW USA. Had the same problem a few month back, called bmw saudi arabia, they told me if ur out of warrantee, u ll have to pay. I contacted Mother BMW (germany) and told them about the recall. They replied by telling me that this only applies to BMW USA.

SORRY

i got the passenger airbag seatbelt warning a couple of months ago, took it in and got it repaired.

last week i got a general airbag seatbelt warning while driving and called in to BMW immediately to setup another service appoitment. when i restarted the car the warning "went away" but im still taking it in.
the service appointment is scheduled for tomorrow. lets see what they say now.

Just got off the phone with BMWNA and nice guy ran my Vin. Said that my car was not part of the recall because I have sport seats. He then said that actually they have to check all cars. He said if I have the problem then take the car in and get the fix. I didn't get a letter because the car was still in the last guys name.

I haven't had the problem yet though.

This is what I found from BMW NA website:

August 13, 2008
Statement on voluntary recall involving front passenger seat sensor mat on U.S.A. model BMWs
Is this only for USA models, or worldwide? A have the same problem, and I'm from EU (Slovenia).
