Here is the latest news for those concerned:

Now I cud guess why people in Europe outside Germany can't get price lists and exact compositions of BMW Individual. I managed to get those for Germany and Belguim/Luxembourg. They are marked for "Internal use only". Prices here are more than 15 % higher for the same staff... There is a EU directive for realignment of prices for cars across Europe. The basis and standard options prices has been adjusted lately. But with BMW Individual they wanna have wonderfull margins without much care about the customers.....

Otherwise I asked about the possibility to get M5 parts together with BMW Individual order. In particular I cared about M5 front bumper and mirrors. They reply M5 parts
will be exclusively for sale to M5 owners for 2 years. Anyway even then the bumper will not fit e60 and the mirrors will be functionless as they their construction, connection and power supply are different from E60's.

If you want to order special BMW exterior paint you have to pay EUR3800 in Germany. Also if you want to add M-aerodynamic paket to BMW Individual it wud cost you EUR3450. High gloss Shadow line is not a part of BMW individual. It is just a standard option.

That is about all for the time being.

I know that ISUK could provide a lot about UK specifics, though he "defected" in favour of Porsche ( joke,ISUK, I like you anyway),I am sure he could be helpfull too. I would also appreciate if we share our experiences and ideas in this regard.

High gloss shadow line IS BMW Individual. It is a standard feature when you have Individual. You can order this option on non Individual cars in Germany too.

That is not so at least in accordance with German and Belguim/Luxembourg internal documentation of BMW Individual. They do show High Gloss Shadow line in their brochure but they only RECOMMEND it for taking as a normal option. It is not a part of any of their packages and you will have to pay extra price( if you want it) from their standard option catalogue. You can check it with your dealer though they are so reluctunt to show details in this regard.

In some respects you are both correct. There is a photo in the E60 Individual brochure of BMW Individual High Gloss Shadowline on the window trim surrounds. However this item is not included in any of the Equipment packages. Very confusing but that seems to be the norm as far as the marketing of BMW Individual goes.

In the past High Gloss Shadowline has been included as a standard production line cost option in the model price lists but has yet to be added to the E60 - certainly in the UK at any rate. This is yet another bewildering omission by BMW as the better quality finish it gives makes the car look so much more expensive. I for one would prefer to see it as a standard fit item with the matt finish being a no cost option.

I stand corrected. This must have been introduced in the last 2 months as it wasn't an option when I was spec'ing up a 535d sport last November.

That would stack - I got the first load of brochures in November - although I'm surprised as this has always been a standard ploy by BMW to make you spend an extra hundred notes on something that should be standard
