Check out Import Auto Werks in Braintree.
I went there for a BMW CCA tech event and subsequently had some work done since all the guys in the shop are cool shit including Alvin the owner.

How about Turner Motorsport in Amesbury? They are a BMW performance shop, but they also do regular BMW repairs and maintenance (according to their website). I've never used them, but they have a good reputation at least in the performance world.

Turner Motorsport has a nice shop but their labor rates are higher and do not let you bring your own parts. It's also about an hour drive from the OP's location.
Alpha Cars in Boxborough is legit. I went there for a tech event just to check out the place. Very knowledgeable techs.
Katchel Motor Company in Lawrence is also a great shop.
