Hello everyone,
To explain my situation: 4 years ago I have done a CIC retrofit into a pre-LCI E60 by myself with a lot of help from this and other forums.
Things that work well: Navigation (all FSC codes activated), updated maps, COMBOX working correctly with bluetooth audio streaming, both USB ports working well, Logic7 coded correctly, etc.
Everything seems to work fine as when I got the CIC it was outdated and I just used my ICOM to flash everything (through the right order) using the car's VIN, etc. At first I default coded everything, but as you can see, I have a COMBOX, so I had to do a few changes to the CIC trace file, so not entirely default coded.
Anyways, the only thing that does NOT work is the "dual-zone" feature, or independent temperature, whatever you want to call it. Basically, in the CIC trace file, AIR LAMINATION is "aktiv" for both Driver and Codriver, but when I go to the CIC screen and try to change the temperature, it works fine for the driver but does not work for the codriver. It's like both are functioning with the master dial (which is the driver's).
I have researched a lot through Google, I found answers saying that LCI IHKA does not have the option (which is not true, I have seen an LCI E61 with MASK and a IHKAE60_2 module and it does work). Actually, I have only ever seen it working on the CCC and the MASK units, but never in the CIC, but I do not believe that it does not work.
SA Codes are obviously setting option $534 (Automatic Air Conditioning). The car already had IKHA HIGH, it was not a retrofit, so the flaps are there and work, I just was never able to make them work independently after the CIC retrofit.
Additional details:
- I had to the pin 21 wire mod to avoid max fan speed.
- Flashed and default coded IHKA to the most recent version with car's VIN.
- CIC came from an E60.
- IHKA HIGH came with the car from factory.
- I-LEVEL was not updated (so ISTA still looks for the CCC).
- Pressing the dial buttons on IHKA does bring up the pop-up in the CIC and correctly changes vent air direction (feet, center, head).
What else could I be missing?
Thanks everyone for reading and special thanks to whoever knows the exact problem & solution, as I have played around with the coding and never got to a conclusion.

Hi Draxerino,
Unfortunately I can not help you with your problem but do you have any tips about installing a CIC from a MASK unit? I will be doing this soon and need all the help I can get.
Thanks!
