I was able to reproduce that knock from driving down my driveway to the street like you mentioned. Now I need to set up an appointment for them to take a look. Thx

Sorry it took awhile to respond.
1. Knock in the steering wheel while driving a parking lot speeds and turning the steering wheel 3/4ths of the way. Found a failed coupler within the steering wheel. Vehicle had to stay overnight to wait for the part. This was covered under the warranty.
2. Knock in the steering wheel while leaving driveway or going over small bumps. Found that I hit something under my car which bent a bracket that held a set of metal hoses. While going over a bump the hoses would touch each over causing this knocking sound.
This was $190 fro the dealer to diagnose and to bend the brack back to "factory specs."

I have a catch or "bump" when turning the steering wheel in either direction. I took it to the dealer and they said the steering colum will need to be replaced. They want $700 to do so. I am trying to avoid having the dealer fix this problem. I read on other posts that others have lubed the column to fix this problem. Does anyone have a DIY or photos of where to look so I can attempt to fix this problem myself?
Any advice or help is greatly appreciated! Thanks.
