hmm i guess this depends on who does your service. I replaced the battery in my wife's E90 and when I was done, the anti-trap warning for the sun-roof came on. When she took her car in for recent service to have the microfilter changed they also reset this for her, no questions about the AutoZone battery in the back.

This weekend I had removed the battery from my E60 to fix the problem of water collecting in the battery compartment. The passenger restraint system warning is now on, I hope there's a reset on this forum somewhere.

 

Now i'm thinking these cars are way too dependent on S/W and dealer serviceable items only...
