My Ride: 2005 530i JETBLACK/BLACK DAKOTA, COLD WEATHER PKG, PREMIUM PKG, ADAPTIVE XENON HEADLIGHTS, AUTO TRANSMISSION WITH 6 SPEED STEPTRONIC, BLUETOOTH SETUP,SAT SETUP AND WIFE AS CO-PILOT
hello everyone... well last nite <_< i was a bit curious to try the bmw assist... while waiting for my wife ...so as my wife entered the car... i pushed the buton to activate.... it initializes then collects long and lat... then says.... connecting to operator... my wife freaks out thinking we were going to pay for that call...anyways... radio shuts off then a voice comes over... and says" mr d---- how may i assist you?" then we talked and gathered info for registration....but i just think how cool this was...question.... what else can you use this service for other than emergency use??and the other option.. of weather and traffic.... let me know ... thanks... eric

It can give you driving directions (Or send you, if you have NAV in Europe, not sure about this).
You will be charged for those services in the US. First one is free.
In the US we also have BMW Concierge which can make flight/hotel/etc reservations for you

In addition to pushing the SOS button they also provide you with an 800 number for BMW concierge services. They may want to verify that you are the service owner but then are very good at making reservations and assisting with restaurants etc. E.G. tonight we were looking for a restaurant in Orange County. (NAVTechs DVD is quite hopeless for anything new or moved in the last 4 years) rather than calling 411 to get the number and conect us, we called the 800 number. The concierge was able to book a table and give us the address to program into the NAV. Now in Germany they can download the address to your car.

In Germany they do everything for you. No additional fee.
The look up phone numbers, make reservations, give you driving directions, etc. They can send the infos to your idrive, you can send infos to your car via the internet, etc....
