BMW Assist

COuld someone please explain to me the way this works as it seems to operate even without my telephone. Also, on the display next to the Bluetoooth aerial symbol - there is a display showing bars, this does not show during a bluetooth phone call, but when you connect to BMW asist.

What *I* don't understand is that when I connect one of two different bluetooth handsets, only one connection shows the "handset" icon next to the "bluetooth aerial". I wonder if this handset icon indicates "full functionality" eg Address Book Transfer...

BMW Assist works with an additional internal GSM SIM.

Ths handset indicates a missed call that was received whilst that specific phone was paired to the BMW. If you go to the phone menu when that particular phone is connected you can look at the missed calls and you should be able to clear the icon from there

I wonder if that works differntly for differnt model phones? My V3 pairing always shows the handest icon, message or no.
Now interestingly I had to re-pair my handsets and the icon swapped between the phones.
I wonder if it means "prime phone"? [first one to be paired]

O me of little faith.
I appreciate your insistence.
I love learning from folk on here and yet again I have learned.
I swear that when I looked in the Bluetooth Manual it wasn't there!
Thanks again.

Nope, it's nothing to do with having a new message or which is the prime phone if you have pairing set for more than one. The handset icon simply denotes a new entry for that particular phone in missed calls. If you go to the missed calls menu you can clear it.
