I have a 2005 E60. I was trying to activate the BMW Assist and after the dealer updated the software, he told me that it would not connect and that I needed a new TCU. Has anyone had this issue and did the new device correct the problem? Thanks!!!

Yep, when I signed up for Assist I couldn't get anything, TCU wouldn't download the settings from my account and the TCU had to be replaced.

I have a 2005 E60 also.
When I got my software updated, the BMW Assist was an added selection, but when I go into it, my iDrive reboots.

I believe this is because the car isn't setup for BMW Assist, so I just never select it anymore!
Unless you are looking to pay for this service!

Thanks. I will have to make the decision as whether or not to replace the part.
