Just to clarify, your original post mentioned OEM M5 wheels but that is not what you show in the picture posted later in the thread. Those are M6 wheels and I don't think they're OEM.

How about some info on tire size and whether you used spacers...

when you placed these wheels on the car did you do a proper upsize calc., thus maintaining wheel stock diameter?.....if not, how much were you off in diameter(often caused by the wrong tire size & profile)

It seems like that dealer is full of it....in more ways than one.

First of all it seems to me that bad tires and wheels will not cause AS faults. I had pitted tires on my 545 sport before changing to new ones and it still did not give any AS faults. It seems like he wanted to sell some new wheels and tires for no reason and charge you or BMW for it.

Also, if he told you that he can't touch the car because you don't have the "recommended 18" setup", that is also a lie. I switched my original 18 wheels with 19" wheels and had my dealer do an alignment on it afterwards with no issues raised.

You can tell the service adviser that not only is it OK to switch to 19" wheels but that even BMW themselves sell 19" wheels for the E60. You can pick up a 5 series accessory catalog from the parts department and show the service guy that there are 19" wheels there for the E60 sold by BMW.

I could see it if he had told you that he would not touch it because you had replica wheels or the wrong offset, or the wrong hub size,........most dealers would not use that as an excuse other than in real extreme cases.........but to just flat out say that he can't touch it because you don't have the recommended 18" setup is just a lie.
