Hey guys-I hang out much more on the 3 series forums in regards to engine stuff-if you have an n52 engine which is in the 06-07 530's and all the 528s then there is a pretty awseome upgrade chip for about 250 bucks that I have had for months now.

It is made by the company who makes the JB3 tunes for the turbo cars that is been so popular.

The powerbox is a "chip" that you simply plug in and it is ultimately a signial amplifier, not a remap, that increasing your ignition timing and richens your A/F ratio a little bit to a more performance oriented direction. From the factory they obviously dont advance these parameters to the most aggresive setting and this powerbox just moves things a little more toward the aggressive side. The only requirement is using 91/93 octane fuel which most do already anyway.

The super cool thing is that it also includes 3 different thorttle sensitivity ssttings-analogous to the sprint booster or velocity booster items in the past. The throttle modulating alone is worth the money and the best part of the devide. It makes driving the car way more fun and takes a lot less input to throttle to make the car respond.

On top of that the other changes give you around 10hp on the dyno tests I have seen. Nothing earth shattering but a nice upgrade on the enjoyment factor, mostly do to the throttle changes. If you do some searching there are hundreds of happy 3 series customers which really sold me-its not like something that nobody has or reviewed-the conecenus is that its how the car should have come from the factor and makes it a whole lot more enjoyable to drive-which I concur with. You can also easily shut it off/on and adjust betwen the different settings by use of the gas pedal taps-that is how you switch modes when car is off.

You can get it at multiple online retailers for our cars. I love mine

An opinion from a N52 530i owner who tried this, would be awesome.

there are a few threads on this subject, including thoughts and reviews...a quick search would get you what you are looking for, keep it simple and just use the keyword "powerbox"
