bluetooth and idrive

Hi Folks,
I have recently paired up my iphone with the bluetooth. At first the phone book did not come up but on the last update everything works great. Only thing is one month after my iphone bluetooth and audio chip packed in and i had to get a new iphone. At the same time the idrive kept freezing and now it looks like the nav drive has packed in.
There is a lot on the forum about idrives freezing does anyone who has had a problem happen to have bluetooth connected to their mobile or bluetooth and an iphone connected.
I am just wondering if there could me a connection here.
