I can make and receive calls in my car just fine. The problem I'm having is when I'm on a call, and want to get out of the car. How do I do this?
I've tried picking up my iPhone and selecting "iPhone" as my audio source, and the call moves from blue tooth to the phone. However, the iDrive screen continues logging call time and it won't shut off, even with the ignition off and the key out. Is that normal?
What process should I use to transfer to call back to my phone and shut the car off?
thx

I've learned to shut down BT that way after walking away from my car while on calls and realizing that the call was still being handled by BT & car and I wasn't heard by the other party (BT was still engaging via car's microphone) !

The OP asked how to terminate BT at the car level. That's what my reply indicated - I agree phone BT can be switched from car to phone.

That is exactly what I do. But the iDrive screen is still logging call time as if I were using the car's mic / blue tooth. I guess I need to press stop/start again to try and shut it all the way off.
Thanks

I have a 2008 535 LCI with confort access. Mine does the same. If on a call when I shut the car down the phone remains connected even after the second push on the start stop button and only disconects when I actually end the call by pushing down on the iDrive or from the iPhone. If I am walking away and still need to talk I just go. Eventually it will disconnect but I've never timed it...

This happens because it allows you to shut your car off without loosing the BT connection giving you time to transfer the audio to your headset. Once you lock the car and walk away the Idrive will shut down. Do this all the time.
