Blue glare "IN" HUD-Windshield

This has been discussed before, but I can't remember the thread.
Some of us with HUD noticed, that when the sun is at a certain angle, there is a blue glare in our windshield!
I had it today and turned the HUD of, the glare stayed. When I moved my head, the glare kept visible, even outside of the area where the HUD data gets displayed.
So I think it has something to do with the special layer in the windshield, that when the sun is falling in to that plastic cover over the HUD, the reflection of the sunlight in our windshields is a blue glare. Nothing that is really annoying.
The next time I notice the glare I will put a piece of paper over the HUD-hole and then we'll know for sure, if it's the sunlight reflection from the HUD cover, or just a sun reflection in our windshields... But I am pretty sure, if I cover the hole with a piece of paper, that the blue glare disappears... We'll see...

I've never experienced the blues, but believe it will be the windshield, Ice. I was thinking that if it happens more often with the sunroof open as Rudy suggested, it would be difficult to have a direct reflection from the sunroof are to the recessed HUD projector. But, as you said, we'll know more when you can finish the experiment.

Hi ICE, I would like to help you with this one but theres two things here we don't have yet in the UK, one is the HUD and the other is the Sun and I think we are more likely to see the HUD first..............

BTW, sunroof was closed (interior too)! Sun was high on my left!

I just did some more testing!
The blue glare IS a reflection of the sun falling into the plastic over the HUD!
When the reflection is visible and you put a piece of paper or something over the hole, the glare disappears and becomes visible again as soon as you take the piece of paper away!
