Hi guys, I m loving my 2005 Oxford Green 545i 6MT so much that i m willing to fix (spent 5k on repairs thus far)... but now I m facing another problem.
So recently, my blower has been intermittently on and off and I can hear a metal grind noise from the bottom of the windshield... which part is that?
Thanks guys!

When mine was intermittent, I had to have the blower unit replaced. If it wasn't making noise, I'd say it could be the blower regulator.

The blower and the blower regulator wear out, particularly if the area gets wet over the years.
Don't assume you can fix the fan, because it's too damn much work to get at it. Just plan to install a new one. Same thing with the regulator. You don't want to do this twice.
It's a fiddly repair, because you have to go in through the center of the console/dash to get at it. Kind of like open heart surgery.
Took me about three hours, taking my time.
See this.
I didn't have to remove the glovebox, but otherwise this is a good explanation.
