Took my 05 545i in to the dealership to have them fix the excessive road noise coming from my sunroof. The SA first said "well, that's why you have the panel that you can close, so you can get rid of the noise". I told her I didn't think that was the only reason they have that on the car and I have seen it as a known issue on the E60 forum.

They tried adjusting the glass and that didn't work so they replaced the seal, and now it's as quiet as a mouse. This forum is awesome for this type of information. Thank you!

I hope so too. I've read where they have actually shaved a little of the glass to make it work. Mine was a noticeable difference.

yes...i had the rattling noise as well...sounds like two glass bottles banging together...my dealer said it was an updated sunroof deflector that fixed the problem...they replaced mine and all is well.

Tate replaced (as "courtesy") my seal right after I bought it CPO. It had only 44,000, though.
