What does this mean? I have searched the forums and cant find anything. The green led on my headlight switch (next to the Active or auto setting is blinking. It looks as though my Active Headlight are auto leveling correctly and I do have high beams from the 2 outside headlights. I do not think the 2 inside lights are working but have to confirm this.... could it mean that a bulb or 2 is out? Or does it mean something else? I cant find it in the manual either.

A blinking green light means something is failing with the adaptive headlight system...

Here's a page from the manual where it's mentioned:

Please let me know if and how you do fix it. Mine has been blinking ever since I bought the car and I thought it was a normal thing. All my lights work fine though.

dealer program or u new a NEW adaptive headlight module AND program. See if you can find a nice friend of urs who has an E60 as well. Disconnect their battery, swap the adaptive headlight module from theirs to urs and see if it fixes the problem. If he has warranty, then, well, you can predict the rest.

It may also veyr well be the headlight. The ONLY way to diagnose this is via the GT1 or progman. It will tets the modules AND the system and see what's wrong.

I was not so lucky with the blinking light.
The fix for me was a headlight unit - plus the controller. $1,900 total.
If a new one is installed, make sure that the headlights are "aimed" according to BMW aiming protocol. My dealer (Concours in Milwaukee) had not done this, and I freaked out the first time I drove at night - the only thing illuminated on the left side was the pavement 10 feet in front of the car!

yup its the adaptive headlight. same shit happened to mine. i mean it's not a huge problem. it might be hard to get used to for a while, but you get used to it but the blinking green light does get annoying.

i was told that it could be fixed through iDrive software update but if not, like everyone else said, you have to get a new module or get a new headlight, and i'm pretty sure that's not a cheap fix.

keep us posted, i would like to know how other people are fixing this problem.

I have the same issue with my passenger side headlight and when I start the car sometimes its pointing towards the sidewalk and other times its straight ahead however it points high. This only started happening a couple months ago and before the light worked fine. Its actually embarrassing when driving around the neighbor hood because either I'm blinding the driver ahead of me or I'm illuminating anyone walking or hanging out on the sidewalk. Makes me feel like the police. I have no warranty and am no way paying 1000+ to fix this. WTF.
