Unhappy

I had something very strange happen tonight.

After a day of driving to work and back then going to dinner I noticed that an AC fan continued to blow after shutting the engine down. This was even after opening the door to the car. No, I did not accidentally hit the 'Rest' button either. I even came back out to the car 20 minute later and the same fan was blowing.

I decided to drive the car around the block to see if I could 'reset' the fan. After some driving and putting the AC through a series of events the same fan continued to blow after shutting the engine down. And even after a few minutes having the car locked and then going back to it.

What is going on?

Will my battery be dead by morning?

Thanks!!!

It is due for a service visit. Perhaps they can look into it too.

Hey nick....Weird coincidence. This just happened to me a couple of days ago and posted the same issue in another thread. I was worried about the battery draining also, but it looks like it turns off after about 10min. Problem only happened once and has gone away for now. Others seem to have encountered this issue at least once. Freaked me out the first time around as I've never had an issue with my E60.

Had this happen to me as well once. Fortunately everything in a BMW turns off after a period of time (15 min I think). Never happened again btw.

I thought it cooled the engine.

Happened to me about three times already, I just gave up on trying to fix it. Lately it has not been doing it, but the battery, never drained, even with my system without capacitors.
