Hmm, interesting. Any idea who she contacted? I wonder if it would be a state or city thing? It was on an interstate, but a portion that goes through Birmingham, which is border line bankrupt.....so if I had to go through the city then I would say I'm just shit out of luck. Be interesting to find out the details of how this instructor person got them to pay

There was a an article with in the past few weeks in the BHM paper/AL.com about getting the city/state to re pay for wheel damage.They have a weekly Road blog that one of the reporters runs about highway and traffic complaints.

Back home my Brother was driving my dad's R32, hit one of the huge metal plates that cover over sewer work bet all 4 wheels, Dad file with the city and the Sewer Dept , and they reimbursed him for 4 wheels and 4 tires.

Not sure - it was a while ago. IIRC she had just gone through the tolls to get on the Jersey parkway when she hit it, and she dealt with the state. She said it wasn't easy, but they did eventually pay for a new wheel on her M3.
