I've got a die cut sticker on my trunk with the dealer's name. I want to remove it. What is the best method without damaging the paint and finish?

All that I have ever removed were easy with just some fingernails and a little Mequiars cleaner/wax to remove any remaining residue.

Easy. Bring the car to the dealer, and ask them to do it. If, for some reason, there is a problem, tell them to do it.

They are not paying you to advertise for them, are they?

Did they ask your permission before they attached something to your car? It is your car, not theirs.

Good luck.

The time proven method is to warm it with a hair dryer and saw some dental floss back and forth behind it until it gives up. Then clean up any residual stickem with something like WD-40 or Goo-B-Gone.

Hair dryer or small industrial hot air blower is the tool most dealers use to remove glued on items. Fingernails should never be used. They can scratch the clear coat.

Goo B Gone will work well....

Just remember to wash the area and apply wax afterward.... because the chemicals in the Goo B Gone will take off any wax protection in that area.

fishskis is right.
Best method is to have your dealer do it. They put it on without asking you, they have to take it off, or pay you for the advertising.
If they want to know why, you don't have to answer that.
Your car, not theirs!!!

Yeah !!! What he said..

Wasn't someone here thinking about getting some "E60.net" decals ??? If the dealership is reluctant to remove their decal, let them know you'll be slapping a few of these babies on some new 5-ers on the lot as free advertisement cut both ways...

I've got a "Powered by LOMAG" sticker on my vehicle !!!

Use the edge of a new credit card or similar. Shave the sticker off by holding the card at a low angle and pushing. Peel the edge slowly, it may come off in bits rather than peeling all at once. A car detailer showed me this. I have used this for hard-to-remove stickers from motorcycle gas tanks also. Quick use of a mild solvent like Goof-Off helps remove any remaining adhesive. Buff and wax after.
That useless American Express Card now is good for something!

Thanks for the concurrence, Iceman.

In addition to being indignant about this issue, I am also about the least handy guy when it comes to doing things on the car myself. I would surely screw it up, and inflict $$ damage to my car; so for peace of mind alone, I would have them do it.
