Best way to know if my car has been remapped?
Hey guys,
I have a BMW 525D E60 LCI 2008 and it says that stock power on it is 400nm and 197hp. When I plug in my OBD2 scanner and check the gauge on BimmerLink it is showing the torque to 550nm. For a long time I have always thought that it just had more power from factory than stated or that BimmerLink wasn't showing the correct data. My friend has the same car as mine, but with a manual transmission and he just had a Stage 1 engine tune done on the car, and we meassured the torque from BimmerLink with it aswell and it had around 550nm aswell. I have asked the previous owner of my car if he ever did a remap, but he said he has not. And the owner before him was a BMW salesman which is now 70+ years old, so it seems strange that he has done it.
So, what is the easiest way to know if my car has been remapped? Can I check the software using any computer software? I have an OBD2 scanner and a k+dcan cable if needed.
