2005 530i US-preLCI Biadaptive xenon.
Ok going to upgrade to Mtec 2.1 since my AE went out. I HATE that the DRL are non-xenon yellow. What is the best way to fix this? I would like to keep the high beam function but not have that dang yellow light next to all that beautiful white AE and xenon.
1. Have DRL turned off (only able to be done by dealer on US-PreLCI correct?)
2. LED type H7 bulb replacement. (Loses high beam function. How much real diff with the xenon?)
3. Colored H7 bulb (high wattage may cause damage to wiring?)
4. Silvania silverstar H& Bulbs ( How close to 6000K do these really look?)
5. Something else

easy fix.. if u got the $$ got to the dealer and have them turn the DRL lights off.. or save a bit and look for a indyshop that can do it for u!

check out the thread about the NCS experts, those are the coders. They can either tell you how to code yourself or maybe help you do it if you are local. Unfortunately for those in Canada where DRL's are the law, even if I were willing to pay my dealer won't do it for me so in my opinion the best solution is LED H7 with a resistor and lose the high beam flashing. I've tried a number of different color bulbs and due to the low wattage of the DRL it still looks yellow until you flash your high beams.
