Can I revive this thread and see if we have any new answers?

Man I just put my new wheels on and I've got ridiculous amounts of brake dust every 3 days. Do people clean their wheels every day or two or what? Between general dirt and what I am assuming is the brake dust..it's hard to keep it clean.

Curious on the post above if anyone has tried the brake dust covers (kleen wheels or otherwise), actually had better luck with different brake pads, or found a sealant that keeps the dust from sticking (if possible). This is crazy. I need a better solution.

Ceramic pads. I installed Akebono EURO Ultra-Premium Ceramic pads a few weeks ago (around $140 shipped) and now have almost no brake dust. I used to have to wash the wheels every three days or so.

Get P21s wheel cleaner or P21s wheel Gel. In my opinion its the best stuff on the market. Unlike Sonax, you can leave it on your wheels and it won't stain them. Its also ph neutral. Spray it on, let it sit for as long as you like, use some type of wheel brush and then hose it off. This stuff is great! I might sound like a commercial but other than Sonax, this is the only wheel cleaner that works and I've pretty much tried them all. The Armor all works pretty good too. It will make your wheels easier to clean. Bottom line, you'll need to clean your wheels frequently, unless you change your pads.

Correction, I've tried all the off the shelf wheel cleaners.

I've used most if not all off what's been mentioned.

But the absolute best thing I did was a brake pad change. Easiest dust to clean is dust that dosen't exist..
Stock pads make noticeable dust layers after 10mi. Don't belive me clean your wheels and go to the store come back I bet a paycheck you can write your name in the dust..

This was very pronounced after my new rims were installed and only front akebonne pads.. Rear pads weren't available from the vendor at the time and I was thinkin the fronts made all the dust .. Wrong..

Pads if you can afford them there reasonable at fcp groton.

But if you must use a product right now I'm in love with rejex just waxed a bunch of wheels it seems to be workin the best..
