Best interior colors for light exterior 5-series
I'm NOT a big fan of the exterior design of the 5-series, but I'm willing to live with it for the incredible drive as you have read in my recent 'test drive' posts. I think it is liveable in a light color, and best as the boring but classic titanium silver - this color keeps the Dame Edna headlights and taillights to a minimum. I love the blue, but not in this particular car. I also LOVE the auburn interior, but it doesn't come with titanium silver in the US anymore according to the order sheets.
Anyway, since I would likely go with titanium silver, it seems that gray or black would be my choices. The gray has some black trim inside (steering wheel, dashboard, doors except for insert, etc.) so that helps, particularly on the mats, but I'm a bit concerned about getting dirty or stained. I've had black on my E500 and it's rather easy to keep clean, but shows dust. Problem is, the black leather in the 5-series isn't exactly luxurious for some reason, so I'm wondering about options for a light color and a sweet, non-black interior...your vote?
Pictures are welcome!

black is out of the question for many reasons:
1) dirt
2) swirls
3) it makes the headlights and taillights from the side VERY obvious, and I want a light color for the specific reason to hide those hideous side lights.

Love Titanium silver - had it for e46 and e60. I had gray interior in my e46 and have black in the e60. I am happy to have made the switch to black interior - black show dust but gray show dirt and the latter bothers me more.

You may be able to push through those order sheets. By that I mean, just because they do not have the combo you want it may still be available from Munich. Try pushing hard if u really want auburn. There were several combos that did not show when I was ordering my 6er but when I asked to see every 6er that was being delivered (dealer never has had a demo - all pre sold even today), I saw combos supposedly not available. Try it if u really want Auburn - I think it is really the right color for your exterior choice.

Go for Auburn!!!!
It includes black carpet, dash, upper and lower door panel, and Auburn dakota leather on all seating areas and door inserts.
Although it doesnt show up as a standard order color combination it CAN be custom ordered with any standard exterior color. No extra charge of any kind. Your salesperson may not even be aware that it can be done, but it can. Trust me, I did it, and so have others. The only loop hole is you have to wait for the car to be built, almost 3 mo. wait for me.
IMHO it is the best interior color offered on the E60, and gos great with silver gray.

if you have an interest in resale value go for the black interior. I like auburn, but to the average repurchaser they will look at you car and say, hmm...silver and ?orange interior?

Saphire black on Auburn Interior here and i love it! i get compliments on it every time someone sits in the car.
Titanium silver and auburn was my first choice but since the dealer could not get one ( would have had to wait 2 months to get from munich) i went with the black/auburn combo. Gorgeous color.
and YES you can get Silver with auburn interior.

I vote you stick with your M-B since you lack the passion for an E60.
