What a great ride; colours & specs all get a big Congrats!

Those are the first photos I have seen of the new rear lights - they look the business

From my experience the 3er typically "feels" quicker than a 5er - assuming relatively similar engines of course. Does the 5er "feel" quicker than the 7er, or is it not that noticably different as with the 3er and 5er?

The 5 feels tight as it's only a few days old, the 3ltr diesil feels great too, once it loosens up i'll have more to report, kickdown and going beyond 3500rpm wont be happening till i crack through the 1000mls barrier in a couple of weeks

Yeah, it's quite cheeky of them taking ??? for the option then not including the cable, I'll keep that in mind next year

I got my car from John Clark Aberdeen and have had great service for the last 3 years from them, much better than Calterdon in Inverness.

Great car BTW I'm really wanting to go for the carbon black 172 next time too but the cleaning puts me off It'll go fine for 6 months then I'll get fed up.
Garry the looks i've been getting in this car are incredible, i thought e60's were fairly common place on the road these days, whether it's the 172's/Carbon Black or the new lighting I'm not sure... I can be sure of one thing though, it's the car and not me getting all the attention

Show him the photo from this forum. The cable is packaged with BMW documentation in the polythene bag. With a BMW part number.

http://forums.e60.net/index.php?act=attach...st&id=38667

They'll argue of course that it's a BMW NA document...

ABC
Thanks for that ABC... I'll make sure i have it to hand when i visit my dealer this weekend, I'm not desperate for the cable but feel it's a point of principal that they supply as a cost option an interface that they can then shaft you over a barrel for a bespoke cable.

Sounds good on the economy front, especially as the engine no doubt has some loosening up to do. How many miles are you up to?

Out of interest - Does the engine have an engine oil level 'dipstick' or is this done electronically through iDrive?

Just spoke with my dealer and it is looking like mine won't be avalable to collect until Tuesday next week (24th) - car is scheduled for arrival at dealers this Friday (20th) - but I was hoping to collect then! Getting frustrated now - especially when looking at the pics of your shiny new car!
Howdy

I'm up to 310 mls as of this morning, by the weekend i'll have cracked 600, more than half way to opening her up, I'd reckon i'll be having even more fun in around 10 days having said that, just driving and getting to know the car is great fun as is without speed.

For the record mate, I'm at Jct 4 on the m58 during the week (just outside liverpool), if you decide to stretch the legs on your e60 let me know, maybe we could have a micro meet

Dipstick... to be honest I never thought to look, I'd imagine there will be a manual reader of sorts though, I'll pop the bonnet at some point and let you know.

depends on what is being fitted and how busy your dealer is, from recent experience they can PDI and Valet the car in a day or so, if your having a tracker thats another few hours onto the equation, if you have a cherished plate .... ummmm i hope you have it on retention or it will be a week and more for that although you can take delivery on an 07 plate.

Out of curiosity has your car been registered/taxed? mine was and it left a bad taste as i lost 2 weeks tax whilst the car was in transit.

Good luck ... looking forward to your pics.

Regarding the dipstick..... the reason I ask is because I think a number of the engines don't have one, according to some posts on here - think this may only be the petrol engine models though, hence why I asked.

Yes I am having a cherished plate put on the car and yes I do have this on a retention certificate which the dealer has had for over a week. I don't believe the car has been either registered or taxed yet. I'm told by the dealer they can turn the car around in 1 working day (excluding Sat & Sun), so if the car is there on Friday as expected, they can turn it around by the end of Monday and so I can collect on Tuesday..... 1 week to go.

We could indeed meet up at some point when I get the car - look forward to it!

I will indeed post some pics as soon as I get it!

I'm assuming that your new motor like mine does not have high gloss shadow line fitted even though it was supposed to be standard fit on the new sports LCI at the time of ordering?

I have challenged my dealer as my choice of a carbon black 530d Sport LCI was predicated on HGSL rather than just being dechromed. They are working with BMW to get the situation rectified whether by dealer retrofit or replacement car (if I cant have HGSL then I would have ordered Space Grey)

If I'm honest I love the matt black look on the doors, to me HGSL is a tad blingy, having said that if it's what you ordered it's what you should have, I know there has been a debate over this and feel that those wanting the HGSL should persue BMW, i doubt that I will be... out of interest let us know how it works out please.
