I just purchased a BMW OEM replacement battery for my e60. I haven't installed it yet. Should I return it and purchase the AGM battery? The cost seems to be about the same. Is this the correct part # ? 61217553954

hate to bump an old post, but i was told the car has to be programmed for an agm battery, beyond the registering. is this true, and how long does it take, and at what cost?

Dealer replaced both factory batteries in my X3 and my 535 with the AGM and did a reprogram. This was done in about 4 hours. Good luck.

You asked "...at what cost?" Both batteries were installed at no cost as a courtesy to me - a whiner. I think the dealer was tired of my constant complaints of a dead batteries on two cars that I had just paid a total of $115,000.00 for.
