I feel like a spinster librarian asking this question, but where is the battery located in the E60 and how is it accessed?

If like other BMWs under the rear seat and you need to pry up the seat. Why do you need to access it?

What BMWs are you referring to?

I thought they've used the trunk for quite some time now...

I also thought they had used the trunk for most of their cars. That is where it was on my '95 325i.
