Battery drain
No i haven’t disconnected the Ibs yet. At the moment ive disconnected the battery and put it on charge. Are you saying that although it’s a new battery that it might not be charging properly? Could all the times that the car have discharged the battery damaged the new battery?
what do you suggest I do:shall I charge battery and the disconnect Ibs and see go for a long drive and switch car off and see if problem persist?
Thank you so much for all your help.

If you did not register the new battery, it'd be at a charge rate for an old battery which is good for an old battery, but not so good for a new battery.
It can damage a new battery, but it takes a bit.
Since you don't seem to even have a multimeter, I was about to reply to fully charge the battery, and then disconnect the IBS and see what happens.

Thank you.
I’ll do that. And get in touch with you probably after couple of days.
I have the old bmw version, do I register the battery with any software? I Google it and nothing comes up about registering new batteries for 54 plate 5series e60
