Its finally arrived -- congratulations!!

Love the whole colour combo and the mods -- you can tell its your 3rd 5er and you've spent along time putting that config together

I know the engine won't be properly run in until 10000+KM, but what are the first impressions -- you happy with the performance and the new auto?

ha ha - sure, being the 3rd 5er, I knew exactly what I wanted and what to expect I just wished the car had active steering - that is one thing i really really miss... What i dont miss are the gas stations 660 km and i have 1/4 of the tank left

The engine does sound very different to the pre-lci models i had. let us put it this way, the 6 cylinders sound like it has a deep voice whereas the 520d sounds like it high pitched voice. Dont get me wrong - nothing wrong with it, it just sounds different. But considering the other cars I was considering, the 520d sounds like a perfectly coordinated orchestra. And regarding the power, there is more than plenty available in the city and on the motorway, 150kmh crusing is very comfy (avg. consumption then about 6,7l). the automatic is also a big step forward - there is less of the torque converter involved, maybe only in the first gear. As a result, the car stays longer in a certain gear.

REgarding the tranny - i have orderd the sportautomatic parts this morning - I will try to retrofit this this weekend..

see you
