Hi Guys,

after nearly 12 months on the e61 forum, I am back here.

I initially had an e60 530d. I then need the natural upgrade to an e61 535dAT but now I have \"downsized\" to a 520dA.

Why?
1) never needed this much power because I only do city driving
2) the lack of range with a tank of gas just always made me mad - i had consumptions of about 11,5-12l/100 km in the city. Translates to 22 US mpg or 18 UK mpg
3) the co2 hype and the environmental thing was getting to me this year, so i thought of doing something about it.
4) the tranny on the 535dAT was just a pain - constant high revving when accelerating

What options did i have? Well I was open to anything from a prius to a VW to the e92. Criteria was that the car had to be economical (thereby environmental friendly), and \"good\" looking, which literally removed prius off the list Well it boiled down the 3 series and the 5 series - ended up taking the 5 series. Know the car, looks great, is comfy and the new 520 is very greedy on the consumption

So here the extras:
520d NX 31
Individual Bi-color leather (Black/Gray)
Alpine White
Automatic Tranmission
Spare wheel
Edition Sport (i ordered m-packet on the 27th Feb, but I was automatically \"upgraded\" to the edition)
Interior view mirror anti-dazzle function
Smoker package
Cupholder
Throughloading System
PDC
Xenon
Air Condition with extended features
Cruise control
Navigation Professional with Bluetooth
Indivual Sun protection
USB
Comfort Access
Comfort Seats
Hifi Sound System

My 535dAT was fully loaded so when ordering the car, I had to sacrifice on some of the extras. Here are the ones that I omitted and why:
- HUD: a nice to have, but only used it when I used the navigation. For that, i could not justify the 1300 EUR
- auxiliary heating: used it twice last winter
- active steering: I MISS IT!!!! unfortunately not possible to order the an automatic and AS on a 520

Anyway guys - here are the pics. Picked it up friday evening - 24 hours later, I had the m5 mirrors and the m5 wheels fitted

Btw: I am running 245s on 8,5 on the front and rear (10 mm spacers). Reason? Because I plan to switch the front with the rear for even wear which i could not get with a staggered setup..

cu rumman

This is how I found the car at the dealer:

1972 Ford Pinto Wagon with optional "Squire" wood grain trim panels would have also been a good choice.
