Hello, E60 gurus out there,
My Dec 06 built 530xi is giving me "start-off assistance malfunctioned, AWD DSC malfunction" message.
The car drives fine, and it disappears when I reboot, I mean restart the car.
What do you make of it? Any experience?
Thanks in advance.

If it dieappeared after a reboot it's probably just a software bug.

Well, that's what I am thinking, but it keeps coming back every now and then.
It's kinda annoying, and makes me a bit nervous.

Look elsewhere this is the same SZL module fault my car had the same error then after a week it stopped clearing itself and stayed on permanently. BMW dealer changing mine on Thursday.

Thank you. I just made an appt with the dealer. I hope it is not dangerous to drive with warning light on. Did yours also light up little 'brake' light as well?

I just had the same problem resolved at the dealership after waiting 3 weeks for my appointment. I was able to drive with those malfunctions lights on for 2 weeks. The last week was very scary as the steering wheel became very tight whenever I made a turn. The turn signal also was very unstable. I would stop driving once you experience those symptoms. Best of luck and drive safely.

Thanks for the advice. I was going to drive to a 200 mile round trip tomorrow. I'll drive my other car.
My appointment is not until next week.
