Aux-in issue
I am having a tough time trying to figure out how to have the auxiliary audio input resume as my stereos source after I turn on my car off then on when I have been using the aux-in last. Basically, whenever I am listening to my iPod through the aux-in and turn my car off, the next time I turn it on the last radio station is the default source instead of the aux-in. This is really annoying because I have to manually set the source back to aux every time since I listen to my iPod 90% of the time.
Can anyone please help me figure out how to fix this? I have a 2008 535i with the standard auxiliary input that is located on the back of the center console near the ac vents for the rear seats. Thanks for the help ahead of time. Oh and this is my first post here, this forum has helped me a ton already but I just could not find any discussions on this so far.

My 2008 starts up with the last source used when turned off (i.e., the iPod in the scenario you described).

Oh also I figure I should include some info that is somewhat relevant to this post for whomever is interested. I replied to a message recently from someone asking about my iPod setup, and this could help out anyone interested in rigging something for their 5-series (or really any other car with an aux-in).
I have a pretty unique setup that I really like a lot, but I am thinking of switching it up soon. What I am thinking of getting is the "LiquidAUX? for iPhone and iPod" (http://us.kensington.com/html/14492.html) which is the best all-in-one solution I have seen so far. I would recommend this if just basic remote functionality is all that is needed.
I currently have a two wireless remote setup with a line out for better audio quality as well as a car charger to top it off. What I am using is a "Macally IP-A803" remote (http://www.macally.com/EN/Product/Ar...?ArticleID=157) which is by far the most versatile and useful remote I have seen yet. I can do literally every possible function available by remote (which is a big plus since I have an iPod touch and having to look down for onscreen buttons is challenging while driving); it also has a line-out, and a pass through 30 pin connector for charging and hooking up to yet another remote. So connected in a chain to the Macally remote is a ?Scosche IPNRFC iPod RF Remote for Car? (http://www.scosche.com/products/sfID...productID/527I) have attached the wireless remote to the steering wheel next to the volume buttons with double sided tape, so I now have steering wheel control of my iPod as well. After all of this I have a basic iPod car charger which connects to the pass through connector at the end of the Scosche remote. I also have an 8 foot 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable that connects to the line out of the Macally remote connector to the aux-in on the 5-series. To hold the iPod I have a Kensington ?Car Mount for iPod? and MP3 Players? (http://us.kensington.com/html/13183.html) which will hold anything and rotates for videos. I also grabbed a circular disc from a tom-tom car mount that allowed me to attach the Kensington mount to something besides the windshield.
All in all this setup works well, but the Liquid Aux is also supposed to also pause the iPod when you turn the car off (which I forget to do from time to time) and it is a one package deal. I have actually contacted Kensington to ask if it is possible to add an extra wireless remote to the system for convenience, so I can let you guys know how that goes if anyone is interested.
Let me know if there are any questions about this setup, and I could even add some pics if anyone is really interested. I searched for a while to devise this set of connections and I hope that this description helps.
