AUX Input troubles
#1
Has anyone ever had a problem with AUX input where the sound would only work on the passenger side of the car? I'm only hearing faint sounds coming from the driver side. All other audio sources sound fine.
Thanks

Lots of times that can be the plug. Did you try with a different cord?
yep, tried a different cord and different input devices. Also, depending on how deep the 3.5 jack in inserted into the AUX in, i get different sound quality. If its pushed in all the way, i get a muddy underwater sound, if its pulled out a bit it sounds OK... but no driver side sound.
Also, I should mention that I had the AUX input installed only yesterday and I already removed the resistor as described in one of the DIY's. I never got a chance to fully test the original install to see if there was any sound problems.

...maybe you should have tried it first?
It's a good point... but a bit too late now.
anyone who has removed the "CHIP" from AUX in, you just connected all the same colored wires after removing the chip, right?
To me it appears to be a problem with the way the connector is attached to the radio, rather than a problem with removing the resistor.
Any other ideas that may help?
TIA

Seems like you're asking the group to produce a solution to a problem you have perhaps created. Bite the bullet, get the AUX input installed again, and see how it works.
Actually, I don't think I did as I performed the same mod others have performed successfully. Any constructive input would be very much appreciated.
TIA

Perhaps I did, but before I take it back to the dealer I'd like to see if anyone has experienced a similar issue.

are you sure you have a stereo 3.5 mm jack cable? There are 2 small rings on the actual plug. there are mono cables also and on the jack there is only 1 ring
Tried another brand new 3.5 mm cable.. same thing. I also noticed I'm hearing static feedback from the external Sirius radio when the light are on, turn signals on, or the brake pedal is pressed. If the device is not getting power from the car there is no such noise.
