Hi,

Good news for those who complained AUX input has less bass and sound quality. AUX input filter out low frequency and degrade sound input by those 220nF capacitors and 300K-ohm resistors.
After removed those caps and resistors, sound quality is just like CD quality with abundant of bass. Let me know if you need help.
In addition, extra wire length also another factor contributes to low sound quality because the AUX itself is about 4-5 feet long plus your connection wire (another 3-6ft) from your iPod/MP3 player to AUX plug. Signals have to travel 8 to 10 feet from your iPod/MP3 player to MAS-K/CCC.
In my case, I removed 2 feet of AUX wires and I use monster cable (3ft). Therefore, mine is just 5 feet for signal to travel to MAS-K/CCC.
This job takes me less than 30 minutes to do.

So..... if you just remove that junk, it works?

How about a sticky, DIY thread?

Lomag or DAS can post it as sticky.

Is this a permanent change..... or can the resistors/caps be placed back in if I don't like the sound?

This can be put back anytime if you don't like the sound, but I guarantee that you'll like the sound.

Great find, Where exactly are these resistors/caps on? And how easy is it to get to the mask/aux wiring?

I'm really interested in this as I have stopped using my Ipod due to the lack of bass/quality :\

Don't tease - how do I do this please?

I've managed to get - 'ok' - bass response, but have been considering trying to re-equalize all of my MP3's - where are the capacitors and resister thingys?

Don't worry, I won't tease anyone
Both cap and resistors are built in devices of AUX cord from the plug to MAS-K/CCC. Please look at AUX diagram and you'll see it.

OK, here it is and take a look at page 9 of aux pdf file from Stream

So..... does this mean I have to take out the cable.... then removes the sheathing..... then cut out the caps/resistors.... solder the connection back together..... and then re-tape the cable?

Seems like a permanent solution to me. If I screw up, I might have to buy a new AUX cable?

If I am wrong..... I apologize.... but the instructions on this topic are not yet very clear.

Very good info. I had decided against getting the AUX because of the sound-quality issue. Thanks.
