I am noticing that my steering wheel does not displace to the full up and back position when I exit the car. It stays in the same position unless I move it. Any ideas on how to get it to move automatically? 2004 545 sport

Do you have the option on your car that makes it go up and down automatically. You also need the Memory seats option for this function to work.

I do have the seat memory function and it lists in the manaul that it should move automatically when I enter or exit the car. But it does not move automattically

Speaking of the automatic steering wheel, why is it that it won't let me program at the lowest position into the memory? I have to hold down the button every time I start the car to get it down that last inch or so (lowest position) and it's still kind of high IMO?

Also, when using memory button #1 on the driver's seat yesteday, I noticed not much happend with the 1st press of the button but with 3 presses it went back to my memorized positions....am I going nuts?

You have to hold the button down in order for it to go to the memorized position. Are you saying it doesn't work the first couple of times you held it down?

flip - no I was just pressing and releasing...didn't realize you had to hold it down ...certainly helps to know that - thanks

Man-o-man...these cars are so complicated (in a good way of course), I'm not sure I'll ever get everything dialed in

As for the original posters question, I recall there being an issue w/ early cars on this and it was fixed through a software update. Perhaps we can get Rudy or Iceman or some other elder to chime in....
