Hi guys!

On the verge of getting a 535d, off to the dealers tomorrow. It is a demonstrator.

My question is, if I ask for Voice Retrofit and an Aux In fitted, will iDrive get upgraded to 16.2 (or the latest version the dealer has) as part of the work or should I ask for an iDrive update as well?

P.S. The car is a Carbon Black one, I would have naturally gone for Silver or Silver Grey. I don't want to regret the choice of colour!

The aux in doesn't require different software just different parametrization. Can't speak to the Voice retro pun intended

 

I was under the impression that the iDrive had to be modified to add the Aux In option? Are we saying that just by plugging the hardware in, the system recognises it and presents the option on screen?

 

From the BMW Installation Instructions: "After the installation work the retrofit kit must be programmed / coded using DISPlus or GT -1 via the Retrofit/CIP path."

 

Just ask for a software update. Tell them you want 16.2 because of the new shortcut features for nav.
