I'll bet anything that you'll be able to get that one fixed since that symptom isn't normal.
Not sure if there's an adjustment or if you need a new sensor. Either way, you'll be in good shape I'm sure.

I'm having the same problem and my dealer told me this is adjustable. Just take it to your dealer and he is able to adjust the software.
Mine isn't fixed yet, but the next time I am at the dealer (what will be soon) they adjust mine.

I actually find that the auto headlights are poorest in late evening sunshine, i.e. they'll be on when they should be off. It seems the angle of the sun at that time of day seems to trip up the sensor.

I go on monthly to the main BMW website and pull off all important or updated bulletins. I have all bulletins and service measures since the SOP (start of production) of the E60.
*I also have them on my main computer and on a 512MB JumpDrive. This way I can take them all with me when I go to the dealer for service.
