Can somebody post some photos of interiors with and without?

What are the main differences between the standard Ait con and the Advanced?

I am trying to decide what to do and would really like to see what they look like as well

Thanks

Nigel

Get advanced if you can. Almost everyone here agrees standard is ulgy, but doing the job pretty well too.

There're tons of info on this here. What's your concerns about Aircon?

Nigel,

Have a search for this topic as I know I've seen a topic on the same thread very recently with pictures of both types and a lot of discussion about the different attributes of each.

If I can find it in the next few minutes I'll post a link to it for you. (Edit : Big Ipaq beat me to it - see his response below)

The only thing I can tell you is that the BMW sales man told me...

"if it is a question of money... you better have to cancel an option and to get the Advanced air con"...

It seems that the standard air con really sucks....

Nevertheless, it seems that this sales man was not bad... 'cause I took the advanced one and didn't cancel any option...

Thanks...

Do you think it can be retro-fitted in a used car?

It can be retro-fitted in a used E60.. At my last visit at my local BMW dealer here in Denmark, they where retro-fitting Advanced AC in a brand new E61 530i...

Cost ~ ?3000:-

Personally I can't see a huge difference between standard and advanced... (In terms of 'ugliness')

Of course it's better, but ?600 better? I would guess it would add virtually zero at resale time?

Hence, the word "almost". However, if you follow the topic whose link I've posted above, you'll see what I mean, it's not a personal opinion. If I would have to choose, I would choose Advanced because I know my wife. My peace of mind is worth more than the advanced aircon price.
